Google Travel Experiences
Goal
Research showed that users cited experiences as the number one thing that made a trip special, and “things to do” for a destination was a top search term. To better serve users, I managed experiences content for ~5000 destinations that would be discoverable on the Google Destinations webpage and through search.
Process
I ran a competitive audit and tests with the team where initial experiences content was created for a range of different destinations (e.g. beaches, large cities, historic towns) to inform the content before scaling. Feedback was also collected from early user interviews. For this project, I managed content production, metadata curation, and algorithmic improvements.
Impact
I met very tight deadlines to create experiences content for a range of activities, from music to shopping to sports. The product brought to life what was previously a static list of POIs, inspiring travelers and showcasing a destination’s many dimensions. Below are examples I created for our Maui set.
